City Wide Suicide Awareness Meeting Notice

SUICIDE AWARENESS MEETING

Principals and Counselors,

We want to invite you and your teachers to our citywide night, Let’s Talk: Suicide Awareness and Conversations, Thursday, November 2 at Saint James Church starting at 6:30. We pray for this night to bring together our community to discuss teen suicide and topics our children and students face- including emotional issues, the role of social media, pressures they feel, healing in the wake of suicide, etc. We invite all parents, all ministers, all teachers and anyone adults wanting to know more about how to be responsive and proactive with our students and children.

Glen Smith Ministries is thankful for our speakers Rebecca Ellis with The Cole Ellis Foundation, who lost their 13 year old son to suicide in 2010, along with counselors from Hope City Counseling Alisa and Richard Jones. They will be able to speak, give insight and answer questions from experience, both personal and professional. We are also so grateful for Saint James Church allowing us to use their chapel for this event. We will have signs at Saint James directing to the chapel the night of the event. If further directions to Saint James are needed, please don’t hesitate to email us.

We would love for you to spread the word about Let’s Talk for any teachers or parents who would like to come or would benefit from the conversation. This info, more about our ministry and links to The Cole Ellis Foundation and Hope City Counseling can be found at our website’s event page<http://www.glensmithministries.org/letstalk>. You can also share our Facebook Event Let’s Talk<https://www.facebook.com/events/159296871327996/>.

If you have any questions email us back and we would be happy to help in anyway we can.
